SUFE hosts the 20th anniversary forum of Human Resource Management

October 25, 2019---More than 200 scholars gathered at SUFE today for the research Forum on Human Resource Management 2019 and the 20th anniversary forum of Human Resource Management in COB.

Distinguished guests attending the forum include: Zhao Shuming, honorary Dean of Business School of Nanjing University, senior professor of Humanities and Social Sciences and doctoral supervisor of Nanjing University; Wang Chongming, the first senior professor of Arts and doctoral supervisor of Zhejiang University, Yang Baiyin, Professor of Flextronics and director of Department of leadership and organizational management of School of economics and management of Tsinghua University; Zhang Zhixue, director of behavioral science experiment of Guanghua School of management of Peking University, Luo Jinlian, professor and doctoral supervisor of the Department of organization and management, School of economics and management, Tongji University, Jia liangding, professor and doctoral supervisor of the Department of business administration, School of business, Nanjing University, Chen Xinyuan, member of Committee and vice president of SUFE, Li Jinsong, vice dean of the Graduate SUFE, and all the teachers of the human resources management department of COB, SUFE. The opening ceremony of the forum was presided over by Xue Liping, head of the Party committee and associate dean of COB, SUFE.

Opening Speech by Chen Xinyuan, Vice President of SUFE          

At the beginning of the ceremony, Chen Xinyuan, member of the Committee and vice president of SUFE, delivered an opening speech. He congratulated the Department of human resources management on its 20th anniversary and welcomed the guests, faculties and students. He introduced the general situation and objectives of the development of SUFE, as well as the great achievements made by the Department of human resources management in personnel training, teaching and scientific research in the past 20 years, and expressed the university's ardent hope for the Department of human resources to continue to achieve leap-forward development. He hoped that the Department of human resources management would continue to adhere to the right direction, cultivate more talents ,continue to adhere to the lofty scientific research and social services, expand the influence of SUFE worldwide, and contribute methodology to China's economic and social development; continue to adhere to the pattern of taking root in China and prospecting the world to create more research results leading the development of disciplines.

Six keynote speeches          

Professor Zhao Shuming of Nanjing University brought an academic report entitled "human resource management century: evolution and development". Professor Zhao Shuming reviewed the research context of human resource management worldwide in the past hundred years to help the audience understand the past and present life of human resource management.

Professor Wang Chongming of Zhejiang University delivered a speech entitled "striving to build an upgraded version of human resource management". He put forward the trilogy of upgrading human resource management: focusing on digital transformation, cultivate management talents, and facing high-quality development. The upgraded human resource management should focus on the lean, digital, industrial, entrepreneurial human resource management.

Professor Yang Baiyin of Tsinghua University shared his research achievement "knowledge holism and its management significance". He divides knowledge into three parts: "rational knowledge", "perceptual knowledge" and "active knowledge". He insisted that we should not only understand the scientific disciplines (rational knowledge), focus on practice (perceptual knowledge), but also learn to create value (active knowledge).

Professor Zhang Zhixue of Peking University gave a lecture on "driving innovation". He reflected on the current situation of innovation of private enterprises in China based on the actual cases of visiting enterprises, and took 1More headset, a famous emerging enterprise in China, as an example, put forward suggestions on how to innovate enterprises.

The topic of Professor Jia liangding's speech is "the debate of p-value and the study of management: the significance of prior probability". He paid attention to the inevitable empirical problem in the research of human resource management - the argument of p-value and the research of management. Starting from what is the argument of p-value, he extended to the role and significance of prior probability in statistical inference, emphasized the different roles of statistical test and statistical inference, summarized the places where P-value is often misused in the research of management, and advocated to strengthen the dialogue with the real and theoretical world.

Professor Luo Jinlian of Tongji University made an academic report on "the research progress of dual leadership". She summarized the definition, measurement and outcome variables of the existing dual leadership, and proposed to understand the definition of dual leadership from the perspective of time and space.

Group discussion           

After the Key notes, the faculties of human resources department were divided into two groups to report their latest research results. Professor Jia liangding and Professor Luo Jinlian were the moderators and reviewers of the two groups reports.

In the report of the first group, faculty - Shu Rui found that there was a trend of gradual centralization of the team's internal counsellors. Faculty - LV Changhong pointed out that the continuous humorous expression of the leaders could promote the new employees to express themselves more sincerely.Faculty -Han Yulan found that under the leadership of the paradoxical leaders, the employees could better balance the relationship between personal interests and collective interests.

In the report of the second group, faculty - Mr. Ouyang Kan found the influence mechanism of the previous day's work behavior on the next day's initiative behavior. Faculty - Cai Yahua explored the influence of the dynamic change of personal work matching on the change of employees' work attitude.

In the group discussion, the research reports of young faculties in the Department of human resources management were unanimously affirmed by the expert present. Experts at the meeting expressed that the Department of human resources management has achieved fruitful results in the past 20 years and expected to become the top human resources department in China and worldwide in the next 20 years.
