In order to deepen the recognition of the professional and industry of the students of the international organization talent training project, on the afternoon of October 8th, COB invites Professor Rene van der Linden of The Hague University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands to conduct a project entitled "Trends in International Trade, Free Trade versus Protectionism, the current US-China trade conflict".

Professor Rene van der Linden mainly gives lectures on hot topics such as international trade, emerging markets, free trade and protectionism, and the current US-China trade conflict. Through detailed information and data, he explains the current international trade trends and the importance of China in the global economy, leads to the analysis of the causes of Sino-US trade disputes, and the countermeasures implemented by China and the United States, and then proposes China's "Belt and Road" new model of globalization.

Professor Rene van der Linden interprets the current economic characteristics of China from the perspective of a foreign scholar, giving students of international organization talent training programs a different experience, and also provides great inspiration for the cultivation of innovative talents. In the final interactive discussion session, the students put forward their own thoughts on the content of the academic lectures, and extend the discussion topics to their respective studies.

Project Introduction

The Shanghai University of Finance and Economics International Talent Training Project is a major innovation project for Shanghai University of Finance and Economics' international talent training. It aims to cultivate Chinese feelings and international vision, understand international rules, have excellent foreign language skills, and are good at cross-cultural communication and exchange, command the knowledge of financial, business, accounting and legal expertise, capable of working in high-end financial professionals engaged in finance, business, accounting and legal work in international organizations. Since the project was launched in 2015, it has recruited five cohorts. More than 30 students have been sent to the United Nations organizations such as UNESCO, the United Nations Office for Project Services and other international organizations such as the Inter-American Development Bank and the World Bank International Financial Center.
