Recently, the "Economics Frontier Theory and Methodology Discipline Innovative Innovation Engineering Base" project applied by Shanghai University of Finance and Economics was approved by the Ministry of Education and the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs, and officially selected into 2017 "Discipline Innovative Engineering Plan" (Namely the "111 Plan"). The successful inclusion of the project marks a new level that "Global SUFE", in particular the foreign intelligence introduction work has achieved.

The "Discipline Innovative Engineering Plan" (Hereinafter referred to as the "111 Plan" for short) is a high-end foreign intelligence introduction program jointly launched by the Ministry of Education and the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs since 2006, aiming at the forefront of the development of international disciplines, with the national key disciplines as the basis, to introduce top scientific research talents from the advantageous discipline teams of the world's leading famous universities and research institutions so as to form a world-class research team, and to build a world-class academic innovative engineering base, with 5 years as the construction period for the "111 Plan" Engineering Base.

The successful inclusion of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics into the National "111 Plan" has embodied the grade and level of the international exchange and cooperation of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics. It will be beneficial for the university to explore the project-based overseas talent introduction means, further upgrade the intelligence and level of the foreign talents introduced, promote the integration of overseas talents and domestic scientific research backbone teams, and comprehensively enhance the scientific research level and international competitiveness of the university.
