“2021 Strategy, Innovation & Entrepreneurship” Forum Held at College of Business of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics

From July 13th to 15th, “2021 Strategy, Innovation & Entrepreneurship” Forum held by the College of Business of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, as a part of A Hundred Years’ Business Study Serial Memorial Activities of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, successfully took place with a combination of online and offline modes in Shanghai University of Finance and Economics. This meeting theme was on A Hundred Years’ Business Study; discussed how to apply new trends of strategic, innovative, and entrepreneurial thought to manage great changes not seen in a century. The meeting gathered more than 300 students and faculty from universities of home and abroad. The leadership of the College of Business of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics was present in the forum and delivered an opening speech and welcome speech.

On the morning of July 13th, Lina Zhu, Vice Head of Department of Business Administration of East China University of Technology, Ping ZhouLecturer of College of Innovation and Entrepreneurship of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, Bin Li, Lecturer of College of Business of Shanghai Normal University, and Wanyu Xu, Ph.D. Candidate of School of Engineering of National University of Singapore, spoke as representatives of graduates of College of Business of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, and shared their study experiences in Shanghai University of Finance and Economics. Subsequently, Professor Chen Guoli from the European Institute of Business Administration and Professor Li Jiatao from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology respectively made an online report entitled "The Butterfly Effect in Strategic Human Capital: Mitigating the Endogeneity Concern About the Relationship Between Turnover and Performance" and "Global Business and "The Digital Economy: Findings from Two Studies of Global Digital Platforms" and actively interacted with online and offline scholars.

On the morning of July 14, Assistant Professor Yang Tiantian from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania first gave a report entitled "Career Antecedents and Outcomes of Entrepreneurship"; Associate Professor Laura Huang from Harvard Business School gave a report entitled "Hurting those we mean to help? Startup boards, conflict, and entrepreneurial success"; Associate Professor Maggie Zhou from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan gave a report entitled "The dynamics of related diversification: Evidence from the health insurance industry following the Affordable Care Act"; from Minnesota, Associate Professor Luo Jiao of the University gave a report titled "Are native plants green? Assessing environmental performances of locally-owned facilities"; Professor Tony Tong from the University of Colorado gave a report titled "How do platform companies orchestrate a digital ecosystem?"; Associate Professor Jia Nan from the Marshall School of Business of the University of Southern California gave a report entitled "Competence or Benevolence? A Race between AI and Human Managers in Employee Performance Evaluations".

On the morning of July 15, Professor Chen Guoli hosted an academic round table workshop. The participating scholars at home and abroad discussed 14 academic paper proposals in groups and put forward constructive opinions. In the end, Li Chen and Hu Cheng,  20’PhD candidates from the Enterprise Management Department of College of Business of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics won the best paper award of this forum.
