On August 30, Alliance of Chinese and European Business Schools (ACE)dean's meeting was successfully held online. As one of the founding members of ACE, College of Business, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics (COB,SUFE) was invited to attend the meeting. Wei Hang, associate executive dean of COB attended the meeting.
ACE is founded by European Foundation for Management Development(EMFD). It is the first international alliance between China and European business schools. As one of the founding members, COB,SUFE officially joined ACE on May 31, 2013. ACE aims to build a wide range of cooperation platform for exchange, scientific research cooperation, cultivation of student leadership and bilateral or multilateral cooperation among ACE members through strong cooperation and resource sharing.
At the beginning of the meeting, Professor Zhang Qiusheng, chairman of ACE and dean of the School of Economics and Management of Beijing Jiaotong University, delivered a speech. He suggested that all members exchange the view of work progress and achievements, discuss on the revised contents and the future developments.
Japhet Law, one of the representatives of EFMD, suggested that all members can establish cooperation projects, strengthen relations, and fulfill the mission of promoting the development of quality management education.
In the meeting, ACE members firstly discussed three routine affairs, ACE financial matters, ACE membership and ACE scholarship proposal. After that, on the topic of " EU-China Education Cooperation: Possibilities & Opportunities ", members discussed internal governance, interdisciplinary cooperative research, joint courses, alliance positioning, platform sharing, etc.
Wei Hang, associate executive dean of COB, SUFE, expressed willingness to cooperate with ACE members and spare no effort to support the development of ACE. He suggested ACE memebers can work together on business issues from three aspects: exchange projects, research projects,and academic conferences, so as to promote multi-level cooperation. ACE members highly recognized COB's achievements in international cooperation and held a positive attitude towards subsequent exchanges and cooperation.
Lastly, New Steering Committee of ACE has been elected at the end of the meeting.
